Holster, an Australian footwear company has recently pioneered and received the highly coveted vegan certification by The Vegan Society – a United Kingdom-based vegan authority. Started in 2001 by married couple Ben and Natalie, the team stated in their local media outlet Sunshine Coast Daily that “Our mission is to help prevent animal cruelty and embrace ethical production processes by producing shoes that do not contain animal products.” The couple has been making vegan footwear since the company first started, so it was only a matter of time before the animal-loving couple obtained certification.
“We are excited to see that the veganism movement is a growing trend fuelled by social media and expanding social awareness of environmental issues,” Ben Nothling said. The first vegan certification will be displayed on shoe line this month – with plans to release more in the future. With a boutique in their home city of Noosa Beach, Australia, and a variety of options for both men and women, Nothling also distributes to 2,500 stores in 65 countries.
Congratulations, Holster – and nothing but continued vegan success going forward!
