Veganism is constantly growing at an astonishing rate. More and more people are becoming vegan for whatever suitable reason. And with growth comes innovation. Us vegans have it hard as it is, so we're always open to new alternatives that'll make our lives easier. Ranging from food to lifestyle to household convenience. Whatever it takes to ensure veganism continues to evolve and flourish. Last night I was bored off my face (having finished the latest episode of House of Cards - AMAZING) and, while I was snacking on my pistachios, I thought I'd see what's new in the world of veganism. What cool stuff has been invented to, I suppose, enhance the quality of lives of vegans. I came up with a riveting list and thought I'd be selfish to not share it with my beloved vegan brethren. So, here we go!
As a kid, I used to love fishing with my dad. It was a great past-time and a chance to bond, relax and read. As I grew older and wiser, I became more aware of how terrible fishing is and, without any delay, chucked my fishing rod and took up other hobbies. However, albeit being happy about giving it up, I missed the bonding part of fishing and spending that quality time with my dad.
Not anymore, Amigos and Amigas. Introducing: Vishing. This Swedish invention is nothing short of brilliant; Instead of pulling the fish out of the water, you feed the fish with fish food made of spirulina powder. The fish food is healthy and rich in vitamins that strengthen the fish’s immune system. Finally, vegans can experience and enjoy fishing to the fullest, with your values intact.

Let's be real; the hardest thing about transitioning is not the abandonment of meat (that's easy-peasy), but having to renounce cheese. Australian inventor and CEO of Potato Magic, Andrew Dyhin 'thought enough is enough' and created a recipe of melting potatoes like cheese. The man is a potato genius and his invention melts into what seems to be identical to cheese. It's affordable, cheesy (for lack of a better word) and supposedly tastes like the real thing.
According to Andrew, this brilliant invention is due to be released in the next 12 months or so. It's definitely worth staying in the loop and at least giving it a shot. We can finally enjoy pizzas and fondue like we used to back in the day. Cruelty free and healthier.

XEROS 'WATERLESS' WASHING MACHINE
The one thing I have always felt guilty about when it comes to doing my washing was the wasting water part. Imagine if every person in the world stopped wasting gallons of water for their washing. Just think about it for a split second. Imagine how much water we'd be saving. That would not only benefit us and those less fortunate than us, but the environment and our fellow species, as well. And being vegan is more than just dieting and protesting the slaughter of animals; it's about the big picture.
So, now Xeros has our backs with their latest almost waterless washing machine. At first glance, it looks like your average, every day, top of the range, easy to operate washing machine. The one unique feature that stands out is that it washes your laundry with special polymer beads and requires hardly any water. This is truly a unique concept that, I won't lie, got me really excited. Imagine all the water we'd be saving if we all used it!

TOPBiT PROTEIN FOOD TOPPING
The next time an omni mocks you for eating your 'proteinless' salad or smoothie or dessert, you can pull this brilliant thing out of your pocket, look them in the eyes, and calmly smile. It's time to put the perpetual and derisive protein/omega 3 debate to rest.
Those brilliant sachets come in savory and sweet versions. So, you can add the savory sachets to your pizzas, salads, rice and hey, even hummus or guacamole. The sweet sachets can be added to your smoothies, vegan puddings, banana pancakes or vegan yogurt. Honestly, your imagination is your oyster, so it's definitely worth giving it a try. No excuses now, transitioners!! TOPBiT is packed with protein, antioxidants, omega 3-6-9, and all 9 essential amino acids. Oh, and it’s made with real food ingredients so none of that artificial crap.
They are currently raising funds to make this brilliant idea a reality so, if you can spare some extra cash, show them some much-deserved love by clicking here.
Nothing is more terrifying than heading to the bathroom and noticing a scary, mid-sized spider waiting for you, and staring at you, on the nearby wall. Oh, and there’s another problem: you’re vegan. You hate the idea of killing ANYTHING. Spiders are presumably no exception. The whole upturned glass trick is too risky cause you have to get up close to them... And what if they aren’t within reach? You want to risk doing it whilst standing on a chair? I didn’t think so.
The Spider Catcher humanely catches the spider from an arm’s length, so you’re in your safe space without having to worry about it jumping on you. You just press the handle to open the bristles, trapping the spider in the fibers and then releasing him or her into the wild, unharmed. Hate mosquitos? Well, then... You need to keep your 8 legged friends alive because spiders are one of nature’s best mosquito repellents, so you’ll be more than happy you kept the little fella alive!
So there you have it. My top-5 vegan inventions. Those are the 5 I found to be most appealing, though if you have any of your own, please share them in the comments below!
