Simple, Sexy and Secure: Why you're the hottest when you're not even trying!

 Simple is sexy

Simple is sexy

There’s something so incredibly sexy about a woman that’s able to dress down, yet not care one way or another what anyone thinks. That woman who has just come from the gym, makeup smudged, and sweaty – but still able to cause whiplash because of all the double takes she causes. Or the girl who’s at the grocery store in a t-shirt and jeans, there to get a few simple items – looking amazing. And she has no idea that you think she looks so good. Nor does she care.

I am a huge appreciator of simplicity – in regular life and in general. It, for lack of a better word, simplifies things. I used to wonder why I’d literally fall head over heels in love every time I'd see a girl in classic Chuck Taylor's or Southern Cali classic Vans. I knew why, to a degree. But I had no idea why. However, it all come back to this simplicity being sexy thing. As a man that used to have an extensive show collection, I can attest to how addictive some products can be. How it can be so easy to get sucked into the societal expectation to ‘look hot’ at every turn.

I remember asking the girls in my life why they liked me. Or what they liked best about me. Many times I fully hoped and even expected them to say because I was cool, or because of my style. It never was (I look back on the younger, dumber me and thank the high heavens that it wasn’t my style or shoes. I couldn’t imagine if I had to get by on my style. Frightening!). My extensive shoe collection and all my discounted designer gear be damned. It was always because I made them laugh. Or I was fun to be around. Or made them feel safe. Simple. All the thousands I had spent trying to get my wardrobe right paled in comparison to just being simple. Which, to these, and many women, translates to sexy. I guess that’s why I am the way I am when it comes to Chuck’s and Vans.

WANNA CONNECT TO THE PLANT-BASED COMMUNITY?

Because the women wearing them always seem to be much more grounded (not always, but I can easily say most of the time), then the woman who is overly done. Or the one that takes two hours to get dressed to go see a movie. Grounded, to most people, implies a certain simplicity. She’s not worried about what the fashion police are saying. What this season’s designers are telling people they should or should not wear. She wears what she wears simply because she likes it – and that is super sexy.

There is a certain ease and calmness that comes with being a simple person. Maybe that’s why I’m vegan. Or, shall I say, enjoying being one. It’s a simple lifestyle. Some people define 'simple' as being able to go into a grocery store and pick up any product and eat it. Or heading to McDonald’s and eating a mcwack. But for me, simple is being able to look myself in the mirror every single day and know I’m doing my part. It’s being able to simply not eat food that’s the leading cause of diseases. Simple is to not eating animals that have done me no harm. Just like a woman wearing a pair of Chuck’s or Vans, a woman who’s vegan is super sexy too.

Because I know we have core similarities that will never be an issue. And not constantly arguing is as sexy as it gets! Of course in saying all this, sexy to one may not be sexy to another. But I genuinely believe it’s important to be able to just exist sometimes. Without all the bells and whistles and other BS that comes with just living life. Simplicity, people – embrace and appreciate it or be doomed to a life of complication and confusion. You heard it here first!
